Adjustment disorders

Significant changes in life such as a separation from a partner, the loss of a near and dear person and life-changing events such as retirement or children leaving home can be causes for an adjustment disorder. In cases such as these you may experience extreme stress and may not be able to cope.

Body and mind may react to the stress situation. Signs of depression or anxiety often develop. Likewise, abdominal pain, concentration difficulties, tension or cardiovascular problems can occur. Many react with social withdrawal. If the stress reaction is based on traumatic experiences and persists for a long time, post-traumatic stress disorder may be present. I guide you out of the crisis through resource work, change of perspective and work with the inner child.
